It seems to be confirmed that Man United target Memphis Depay will be leaving French Ligue 1 outfit, Lyon in January transfer window but he is definitely not heading to the Old Trafford but Barcelona.

Barcelona may be desperately trying to cut costs due to the pandemic but that hasn’t stopped them being continually linked with a move for the former Manchester United player,  Memphis Depay

Memphis Depay has been tipped to have a return to Old Trafford after a first unsuccessful spell which left him frustrated before leaving England to join the French Ligue 1 outfit.

With his contract expected to expire next summer, he has not agreed on a new deal with Lyon as there are no talks on the table but not to worry, he is a major target for new Barcelona manager Roland Koeman.

Reports claim that, agreement has been reached between Lyon and Barcelona for the Netherlands international and he could be heading that direction in January.

However, his move has been confirmed by Lyon manager Rudi Gracia who claims to be happy about the prospect of Memphis Depay joining Barcelona next year.

He admitted he has been reading a lot in the press, he noted that Memphis Depay is a fantastic player that will also make an impact at Camp Nou, although he is opened to having him at the club for another season if a deal fails to pull through next year.
