Most Arsenal fans decried the performance level of Brazilian international Willian since he joined the club but he has the backing of Mikel Arteta who has an excuse for his level of delivery.
Willian was known to be a threat while with the West London outfit but since he joined the Emirates Stadium, he is yet to be seen at that level of display despite his two assists in the season’s opener. He has not directly contributed to any goal in the last five games.
This has raised concerns over the situation of the former Chelsea player who is now being defended by Mikel Arteta. The manager stated that he is learning the Gunners pattern of football and it only takes time.
The former Man City assistant manager expressed confidence that Willian will return to his best soon to prove his worth.

“He’s getting better and better,” Arteta said at a media conference ahead of his side’s Premier League clash with Aston Villa on Sunday.
“I can see a development in the last few games. The things I asked him to do are probably different to things that he’s used to.
“We all know the qualities he has and he’s a great option to have. I think he started really well in the first game against Fulham, then we changed from the three [up front].
Howbeit, Arsenal have had to rely on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for goals and other young players in the team.
Alexandre Lacazette is another player fans have complained about as a result of his lack of goals in the last few games for Arsenal but that is not a worry for the Spanish boss who already hinted that he is working on the quality of the team offensively after helping the team to be solid defensively with the signing of Thomas Partey in the midfield and Gabriel Magalhaes in the defence.
