Chelsea would have been struggling more than they do this season if they had sold French international midfielder N’Golo Kante, according to Man United legend Gary Neville.
N’Golo Kante was linked with a move away from the Stamford Bridge with Man United and Arsenal reported to be interested in his service but Frank Lampard made a last-minute decision to keep him.
Expressing shock over reports that the West London outfit almost sold out the former Leicester City midfielder, the former Red Devils claims the Blues team would have struggled the more this season as he has had a big impact on their season.
According to him, the World Cup winner is a key player for Chelsea and you will not be surprised as to why he has been in the team for their last couple of games this season.

Gary Neville noted that Chelsea played out a goalless draw against Man United in the absence of N’Golo Kante but the result immediately changed with his presence in their game against Burnley, hinting that Frank Lampard seems to have found the solution by playing the France international in the holding position among three midfielders.
“It’s a modern Phenomenon to play a player in that position who is good on the ball. We’ve seen Xavi and Pirlo do it. But when you think of Fabinho, Fernandinho, or Kante, that’s the classic player in that position.
Gary Neville concluded by stating that playing N’Golo Kante in that sensitive position is the prove that the club wants to keep him but he was shocked when he learned of his proposed exit because he is not the player any manager will want to lose.
However, we expect to see N’Golo Kante in Chelsea’s important games, especially in the Champions League and the Premier League as he is already established in the team.
