West London outfit Chelsea are still interested in signing a new centre-back despite the presence of Thiago Silva and will make an attempt to land one.
Malmo centre-back Anel Ahmedhodzig has been identified as a target for the Blues team and they are reported to be preparing an €8 million offer ahead of the coming transfer window.
Anel Ahmedhodzig was in England in 2016 when he had a move to Nottingham Forest but he did not stay beyond the season and had to return back because his spell was unsuccessful. He had just one first-team appearance and had to leave.
The 21-year-old is now a key player with Malmo and has enjoyed 34 appearances across all competitions. His performance has attracted the West London outfit and they want him as an understudy for experienced Thiago Silva before he retires from the game or leaves the club.

Expressen reports that the Blues have been impressed with his development and will make a move to him in the transfer window.
Anel Ahmedhodzig made his first-team appearance for Sweden national team in January but he has switched his national allegiance to Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was in their colours for the UEFA Nations League earlier this month.
Chelsea are now fourth on the league table after enjoying a 3-0 win against Burnley on Saturday and will hope to continue the winning streak in the next Premier League fixtures.
Chelsea started the season very slow but have picked up with a number of wins, all thanks to great goalkeeping by Mendy and the wealthy experience of Thiago Silva.
Following their weekend win, the West London outfit are now 5th on the Premier League log with 12 points and that keeps them close to the top but most importantly, manager Frank Lampard is sure of keeping his job for a longer period of time.
