Manchester United have reportedly made an offer for highly-rated FC Porto defender Alex Telles as they hope to secure his signing between now and next week when the transfer window ends.
The Guardian claimed that the Red Devils have made an initial bid of £12m for the 25-year-old and that Portuguese champions FC Porto are holding out for £18m.
He has less than a year on his FC Porto contract at the moment and it doesn’t look like the Brazilian international is ready to commit his long-term future to the club.
Manchester United are hoping to sign him for lesser than the £18m asking price from FC Porto.

Alex Telles was one of the best attacking left-backs in European football last season after he scored a lot of goals plus assists.
He was responsible for 12 goals and 13 assists for FC Porto last term.
The Brazilian left-back is interested in a move to Manchester United who moved on to him after the disappointment of missing out on Sergio Reguilon.
Tottenham Hotspur snapped up Spanish left-back Reguilon under the noses of Manchester United after they failed to meet the requirements set by Real Madrid.
Both Spurs and Manchester United agreed a £25m fee for the aforementioned player before the former edged it.
