Arsenal made Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey their top target at the start of the transfer window but that seems to have changed in recent weeks with Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar now the club’s first choice transfer target.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta wants to add a creative spark to his team and he’s confident that Algerian-born French junior international Aouar is the man to provide the North London club with the creativity that has been lacking in recent times.
Houssem Aouar has decided to join Arteta and Arsenal in North London but the club still needs to negotiate a transfer fee with Lyon.
The Gunners have seen their first two offers rejected by Lyon and are expected to make a third bid for Aouar in the coming days.
Lyon have placed a €60m valuation on the player.
