Man United fans left disappointed after David De Gea remark

The weakness of Man United goalkeeper David De Gea has been exposed by the club’s former goalkeeper, Mark Bosnich.

This might be a shock to Red Devils fans and leave them disappointed as previous analysis has been in his favour.

This is coming after the Spanish shot-stopper was unable to stop Steven Bergwijn’s goal that led to their 1-1 draw against Tottenham on Friday night.

Roy Keane was first to criticize the former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper before Bosnich noted his weakness.

According to him “he has had a season that has been full of mistakes that he hasn’t made on a consistent basis in the past, there is no doubt about that.

“In terms of the goal against Tottenham, a lot of people are obviously talking about the delivery that Roy Keane made, but the bottom line is whether you agree with the way he delivered it or not, that is Roy’s style.

“It was a mistake and I think that the most important thing, and I’m sure his goalkeeping coach would notice from a technical point of view, is that there is something wrong when he sets for shots.

“So that’s something they definitely need to work on and obviously they’ve got Henderson who’s playing so well at Sheffield United as well.

“It has been more than a blip this season,” he told Sky Sports

Maybe this flaw has been identified by opponents to capitalize on or not but it’s definitely an issue for a goalkeeper who is highly rated in the English Premier League, in addition to the huge weekly wages he earns.

David De Gea stands tall in the ranking of goalkeepers in the world.

There has been a little frustration in the camp of Liverpool, especially in their bid to defend the Premier League title as the journey has not gone the way they expected.

The Premier League title holders are currently level on points with their Merseyside rivals, Everton as toppers of the league, and have been able to deliver two wins in their two Champions League games.
However, a lot of things have happened in the short spell of the season, most importantly the 7-2 humiliation against Aston Villa.

The Reds cannot forget that result in a hurry. This adds to the 2-2 draw against Everton.

The injury plague at Anfield is also something to be concerned about as the Reds have now lost Virgil Van Dijk, Fabinho to injury while Mohamed Salah was seen limping in the Champions League game against Midtjylland.

Nevertheless, the Sheffield United game which saw the Reds team record a slim win might have caused a sting in the relationship between Mohamed Salah and Saido Mane unknown to many.

Liverpool were able to deliver a win in that game despite coming from a goal down, al thanks to Sadio mane for his brilliance. It would be recalled that it was his header that was parried by Aaron Ramsdale which had Roberto Firmino finish it off. The Senegal international also handed the assist to Diogo Jota to score his first goal for the club.

However, Sadio Mane looked unhappy after the game and it may not be unconnected to Mohamed Salah’s refusal to hand him the ball in the second half that could have placed him on the score sheet.

BBC Sport pundit, Garth Crooks, who observed keenly what happened, said when the ball came to Mohamed Salah he should have handed it to Sadio mane who was well placed but refused to do so to deny the Senegal international a goal. He, however, expresses fears that Sadio Mane could be unhappy and that may force him to consider other suitors who are interested in him.

It has not been an easy task for Liverpool to defend the English Premier League title with the injury-plagued the club is currently battling with.

The Merseyside outfit are on level points with their rivals, Everton on top f the league table but the journey has not been as easy as it seems. Jurgen Klopp’s team have been hurt with the 7-0 humiliation against Aston Villa in the Premier League despite having a smooth run in the Champions League so far.

However, the latest development on reports of Egyptian international Mohamed Salah limping heavily down the tunnel after their 2-0 win over Midtjylland is a major concern in Liverpool’s bid to reclaim the Premier League title.

The Egyptian international started the game from the bench in the second half to lift his team by scoring from the spot to seal the three points against the Danish team. The contact between Mohamed Salah and Paulinho seems to have had an effect on him.

This is yet to be confirmed by manager Jurgen Klopp as he did not make any claim concerning the injury in his post-match but fans are left disturbed with the footage of him limping.

Also, Liverpool have lost Fabinho to injury and that is a major concern for Jurgen Klopp especially as he will not have Dutch defender Virgil Van Dijk for the who season again.

Jurgen Klopp confirmed that the Brazilian has a muscular injury and awaits the result of the medical examination but it remains a blow because he has been at the centre-back.

All of the injuries are sure to be a big challenge to Liverpool’s bid to defend the league title and how they manage these injuries and other selections will determine if they will come out of it or not.

The German manager is expected to storm the January winter transfer window to secure a defender as a cover for the injured centre-backs.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confessed that his team struggled to get the 2-0 win against Midtjylland in the Champions League on Tuesday night at the Old Trafford.

According to him, it was a hectic game as his team was unable to calm down the pressure until the final sound of the whistle.

It would be safe to state that the Reds wouldn’t have struggled with if the likes of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, and Roberto Firmino were in the starting XI for the game as they only had a second-half share of the game.

Last weekend goal scorer Diogo Jota was also on the score sheet as he drove home the opener before Mohamed Salah came from the bench to seal the three points from the spot.

The German boss in his post-match interview with the club’s official website said “We made a lot of changes and it’s my job to decide obviously, I have all the information about what the boys did.

“But for different reasons again, the game was really tricky. They pressed like crazy, they made a really hectic game of it and we couldn’t calm it down in the decisive moments” he said

Liverpool played without most of their first-team players and that is a major reason to give for their struggling but it would have been unacceptable if they had suffered a defeat in that game at Anfield.

Losing Fabinho to injury is another testimony that they really had a hectic game and that sends a message to the former Borussia Dortmund boss on how he must manage his squad to be able to compete as their injury list continue to grow.

The January transfer window should bring relief to the Liverpool team as it will present manager Jurgen Klopp with the opportunity of reinforcing his team for the second half of the season.
