Manchester United player turned manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given an update on the injury picked up by star player Marcus Rashford during the Wolves game in midweek.

Rashford sustained a back injury during the FA Cup third round replay with Wolves at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

Solskjaer was asked about the fitness update on Rashford during his pre-match press conference on Friday morning but the Manchester United boss was not confident that his star player will be fit for the Liverpool game at Anfield.

After the Wolves game on Wednesday night, Solskjaer rued the recurrence of the back injury that forced Rashford off just 16 minutes after entering the FA Cup third round replay clash.

According to him, he had a slight back pain and was left on the bench for the Wolves game before his introduction in the 64th minute with scores at 0-0.

Marcus Rashford was involved in the only goal of the game shortly after he was subbed on.

Juan Manuel Mata was the goalscorer as the Red Devils were able to secure a fourth round place in the FA Cup.

Rashford lasted for just 16 minutes before being taken off in the 80th minute of the game.
