According to the report from the Daily Mirror, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to sign two midfielders during the upcoming winter transfer market next month.

The Red Devils boss has seen inconsistent performances from his players in the first half of this season and he is keen to improve remarkably on those performances with the addition of quality players especially in the midfield area that has missed the services of star player Paul Pogba.

The French World Cup winner has struggled with an ankle injury since the end of August.

Pogba sustained the injury during the league game at the home of struggling Southampton which ended in a 1-1 draw.

The Frenchman returned briefly for two games against English League One club Rochdale in the Carabao Cup and Premier League top four rivals Arsenal in the league before aggravating the ankle problem against the Gunners.

The two games against Rochdale and Arsenal took place at home.

Paul Pogba has not featured for the Red Devils since the league clash with Arsenal at Old Trafford at the end of September.

The Frenchman has played just six games for his club this season.

Solskjaer and Manchester United will also look to boost their forward options in January apart from strengthening the midfield.
