Sergio Aguero

Reigning European champions Liverpool have been handed a major transfer boost in their pursuit of a first league title in almost three decades following the injury sustained by the star striker of big contenders, Manchester City.

The Premier League champions are seen as the major challenger to the Reds’ quest of ending their title drought and they were dealt a major injury blow with the injury to star striker Sergio Aguero.

Argentine international Sergio Aguero sustained a muscular injury during the last league game and will miss the next three to four weeks of football as a result.

Aguero suffered the injury during the Chelsea game at home at the weekend.

Despite the setback, Manchester City were able to beat Chelsea 2-1 to close the gap to league leaders Liverpool to within nine points.

Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez scored the goals for hosts Manchester City to overturn the deficit from Chelsea Midfielder N’Golo Kante’s opening strike with all the strikers coming in the first half.

Manchester City have won the last two Premier League titles but they face a big battle to make it three wins in a row with Liverpool currently setting the pace after 13 games.

The Citizens have had to deal with injuries to key players like Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sane.

North London outfit Arsenal are set to benefit from the fate of the Spanish La Liga club Espanyol who are going to be relegated from La Liga and set to lose their players.

A number of clubs are already considering players from the Spanish club, including Liverpool who are believed to be seeking the signature of Leandro Cabrera as a replacement for Dejan Lovren.

According to La Razon, the Gunners are seeking the signature of Marc Roca from Espanyol as manager Mikel Arteta is believed to be a big fan of the midfielder.

The Spanish boss is also hoping to land Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey and already looking forward to his partnership with Marc Roca in the middle.

Marc Roca has a release clause of about £40 million and that could be negotiated by the two clubs especially with the player not ready to be relegated with Espanyol.

The 23-year-old enjoyed 33 appearances for Espanyol this season, making him one of the best the club can boast of. He is experienced and can be a better option to Matteo Guendouzi who could his way out of the Emirates Stadium.

Everton have been named as one of the clubs seeking the signature of the Espanyol midfielder but the Gunners are tipped to win the race.

Victor Osimhen

Lille and Nigeria international Victor Osimhen has been in the news for reports of a move away from the French Ligue 1 outfit in this summer transfer window.

The 21-year-old was earlier reported to be on the wanted list of English Premier League champions Liverpool with claims that manager Jurgen Klopp will be seeking to work with him but that seems to have faded away as Italian Serie A outfit Napoli are set to win the race.

Journalist Nicolo Schira reports that the Nigerian international youngster has already held talks with the Sporting Director at Naples and agreement has been reached with a deal expected to be made official and announced as soon as the summer transfer window is opened.

However, it is being reported, according to reports in Italy that there are complications in the agreement for the Lille forward, the reason why a deal has not been announced. English Premier League side, Tottenham are set to take advantage of the situation to submit a bid for Victor Osimhen.

This means that Liverpool are out of the race for the former Wolfsburg forward who scored 18 goals for Lille in the 2019/2020 season, helping them to clinch a Champions League spot by finishing fourth on the log.

Manchester’s battle for Oyarzabel intensifies

There is a new turn in the chase of Mikel Oyarzabel from Spanish La Liga outfit Real Sociedad, according to Todofichajes which claims that the two English Premier League clubs in Manchester are keen to land his signature.

This means Man United and Man City are both locking horns to snap up the signature of the 23-year-old winger who is available on a release clause of £64 million.

According to reports, the Red Devils have shown more interest in the Real Sociedad player but have valued the player for £45 million.

The Red Devils have shown more interest in England international, Jadon Sancho of German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, having made him their top priority but in case they fail to secure his signature, Mikel Oyarzabel will serve as a good option as a result of his quality.

Borussia Dortmund have slammed an asking price of £100 million on the young England forward and seem not ready to come down on the negotiation table, a fee the Red Devils will not be able to afford if they must secure other deals.

Meanwhile, Man United’s chance of landing Jadon Sancho is highly dependent on their qualification to the Champions League as he will not want to play n a club without European football at that level.

How correct is Arteta on Arsenal as an attractive club

Mikel Arteta

Many concerns have been raised over North London outfit Arsenal and their bid to engage in the summer transfer window because of their lack of results in recent years.

Manager Mikel Arteta has urged the club to sign more players as he hopes to rebuild a team that will be able to compete for titles with the top sides but that is being threatened by the fact that the Gunners will not be playing in the Champions League next season as they are currently ninth on the log while the Europa League is also very unlikely.

It is widely believed that a number of big players will want to join a club with a chance of success and titles ahead of others that cannot boast of the same.

This notion has been dismissed by Arteta who claims that Emirates Stadium still attracts a lot of players. He claims to be close to the market and the responses he has gotten so far from players he has been speaking to are positive.

He stressed that Arsenal have a rich history, incredible style of play and structure, adding that it is enough to attract players to the club.

However, it is not sure if the manager is speaking the truth on the reality on the ground but the true judgment would be known if the Gunners are able to strike big deals in this summer window, especially as they will not be in the Champions League next season.

Chelsea’s challenge in Kepa’s proposed swap deal emerge

Timothy Aiyeku

From all indications, West London outfit Chelsea are willing to let go of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga in this summer transfer window.

The shot-stopper has been criticized for his unsatisfactory performance with commentators insisting that he should be part of the players that should be shown the exit door of the Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have, therefore, been linked with Jan Oblak, the Spanish La Liga club Atletico Madrid goalkeeper who is valued at £110 million, a fee the Blues cannot meet.

In a bid to ensure a deal for Jan Oblak, it is reported that Chelsea are proposing a swap deal that will have Kepa Rrizabalaga go the other direction which is already being rejected by the Spanish side. While Atletico Madrid fancies the idea of a swap deal, they are not ready to have Kepa Arrizabalaga as part of it.

This makes the situation more complicated for the West London outfit who will find it difficult to sell Kepa, even at the £71.6 million that was invested in him while the weekly wage continues to be a challenge as well.

Atletico Madrid have been able to let go of David de Gea and Thibaut Courtois in the past to EPL clubs but they seem to value Jan Oblak more than his predecessors in the team.

Olivier Giroud

English Premier League outfit Chelsea will have to brace up for what is to come as Italian Serie A club Inter Milan are keen to raid the club of its players.

Inter Milan boss, Antonio Conte is a former Chelsea manager who is knowledgeable about the players in the Stamford Bridge. He is hoping to reunite with some of them and has a number on his wish list.

Having already captured Victor Moses, Conte is seeking to add Emerson Palmieri to his squad in Italy and he is not stopping at that. France international Olivier Giroud is the latest to be mentioned as those that will receive offers from Inter Milan as soon as the summer transfer window is opened.

The future of Emerson Palmieri is uncertain at the Stamford Bridge as the full-back has not been graced with enough appearances under manager Frank Lampard and has reportedly requested to leave. We will wait to learn if his request will be granted by the club.

However, it is not clear if the West London outfit will be willing to part ways with the former Arsenal man anytime soon but that will be determined by the nature of the offer and the replacement that would be available in the market.

Arsenal could still sign up this Barcelona man

Philippe Coutinho

English Premier League outfit Arsenal have been heavily linked with the signature of former Liverpool star and Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho for the past transfer window without getting a deal done. This could be their opportunity.

It is reported by Goal that Spanish La Liga outfit Barcelona are willing to let go of the Brazilian to the Gunners and Newcastle having learned of their interests.

The Catalans are hoping to engage in this coming summer transfer window as they look to snap up Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez who is valued at £98 million. They will have to raise funds for him and Philippe Coutinho could be a source because his future at the club is no longer guaranteed.

According to reports Coutinho’s agent, Kia Joorabchian is ready to have his player join Arsenal as they have a proven record and history than Newcastle.

It is therefore believed that the Gunners will jump at any opportunity to snap up the 28-year-old but they could be hindered by their lack of funds while an option of a loan deal could be considered as well.

With Matteo Guendouzi expected to leave the Emirates Stadium, the former Liverpool playmaker might just be the perfect replacement.

The three players Arsenal will move for this summer

Kalidou Koulibaly

If the words of Kevin Campbell are to be followed by North London outfit Arsenal, then the Gunners will be moving for three players in this coming summer transfer window to boost their squad.

The Gunners are having it difficult and struggling to win titles even under manager Mikel Arteta and analysis points to the direction that more additions are needed to be able to compete against bigger sides.

With the summer transfer window underway, Kevin Campbell stated that Arsenal should focus on recruiting players into three positions. He noted the central defence and central midfield as the main areas needed to be equipped if the team must compete to win titles next season.

The former Arsenal striker suggests Thomas Partey and Adrien Rabiot from Atletico Madrid and Juventus respectively in the midfield while a player like Napoli star, Kalidou Koulibaly for the defence.

He stated that the club needs players of these qualities, stating that after watching the North London derby something must be done in the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, the transfer dealings of the North London outfit will be dependent on Arsenal’s transfer budget and their qualification to the Europa league because most players will snub clubs without European football.
