Arsenal were in search of a forward during the summer and Mariano Diaz was one of the names linked with the position before they settled for Pepe who has scored just three goals since his big money move to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal signed Pepe for a club-record fee of £72m and he’s yet to score from open play for his new team.
Mariano Diaz has been on the outskirts of Real Madrid for the majority of his time at the club since returning from French Ligue 1 side Lyon at the start of last season.
The likes of Eden Hazard, Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale, Rodrygo, Vinicius and many more are ahead of him in the pecking order as far as the Real Madrid attack is concerned.
