Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona are in the race to sign Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang according to the latest reports coming out of the media in the United Kingdom.

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang recently rejected the offer of a new contract from the Gunners and that has led to renewed interest in his services.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and strike partner Alexandre Lacazette both turned down new contract offers from Arsenal last month as the North Londoners sweat to sign their key players to long-term contract at the club.

Aubameyang has less than two years on his current Arsenal deal, while his strike partner Alexandre Lacazette has less than three years on his own Arsenal contract at the moment.

According to the Daily Mirror, Spanish champions Barcelona are interested in a deal for the aforementioned Aubameyang.

It was revealed that the five-time European champions Barcelona want to sign the Gabonese international star when the winter transfer window reopens in the next few weeks.

Aubameyang has been the major source of goal for Arsenal with 13 goals in his last 18 games in the league.

In addition, the Gabonese player has scored the landmark of 50 goals in the colors of Arsenal in just 78 games for his team.
