Former Premier League champions Manchester United will have to fend off the interest of Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona in Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez.

This is according to the publication from the Daily Express which revealed that Manchester United and Barcelona are keen to sign Argentine international Lautaro Martinez who has been in good form for Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan this season.

Lautaro Martinez has scored four goals in his last four games in all competitions in the colours of Inter Milan.

The young Argentine international striker has scored seven goals in 13 games in all competitions this season.

The 22-year-old has been able to form a potent partnership with summer signing Romelu Lukaku in the Inter Milan attack.

Manchester United let Lukaku join Inter Milan in the summer in a £74m deal but they are yet to replace him.

The Red Devils have been linked with attacking options such as Moussa Dembele of Lyon, Mario Mandzukic of Juventus and Erling Haaland of Red Bull Salzburg apart from Lautaro Martinez who’s seen as a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez.

Uruguayan international Luis Suarez is still the undisputed first choice striker at the Nou Camp but Barcelona officials are already looking out for his replacement.
