Manchester United’s hope of capturing Barcelona and Croatian midfield Ivan Rakitic has been boosted as reports claimed that the Catalans are set to let go of the player.
Rakitic enjoyed a brilliant spell at Camp Nou prior to the reign of Ernesto Valverde but things are currently not going as planned for the midfielder this season.
He has fallen down the pecking order under the Argentine manager and he is set to be offloaded by the Laliga Champions in the next transfer window.

According to Spanish media outlet Marca, Valverde and his employers have decided to release the experienced midfielder in January because he is surplus to requirements.
This will come as good news to Solskjaer who is being linked with a move for the World Cup finalist as part of his mission to fortify his midfield in January.
However, Juventus are also said to be interested in the player as Sarri is reportedly in search of Emre Can’s replacement in January.
Can, 30, is also linked with a move to Old Trafford after fallen out of favour at the Turin-based outfits and it is yet to be seen who the Red Devils are looking to sign first between the two midfielders.
