Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has praised one of his players on the back of the easy win over Brighton and Hove Albion in their Premier League meeting on Saturday evening.
Frank Lampard singled out young midfielder Mason Mount for praise after the game against Brighton at home.
Chelsea defeated Brighton 2-0 courtesy two second-half goals from Jorginho (penalty) and Willian.
The Blues were frustrated in the first half which ended in a goalless draw in addition to the fact that they had 17 shots in just 45 minutes.
Mason Mount capitalized on an error from Brighton defender Adam Webster to give Chelsea a good chance of breaking the deadlock.
The young Englishman was brought down by summer signing Webster and that led to the opening goal of the game from Italian international midfielder Jorginho who made no mistake from the penalty spot.
Chelsea doubled their lead towards the end of the game via the aforementioned Willian.
Apart from the penalty incident, Mason Mount had a very good game and that led to the praise from his manager.
Mason Mount has been in very good form for Chelsea since returning from a successful spell at English Championship side Derby County in the summer.
EPL: Daniel James next club revealed
Brighton & Hove Albion manager Graham Potter is keen to work with Manchester United winger Daniel James again according to the latest transfer reports in the British media.
Graham Potter worked with Welsh international Daniel James at Swansea City before both parties left the English Championship side.
Daniel James played 33 league games in the English Championship under Graham Potter during the 2018/19 season and his performances for the Welsh team prompted the Red Devils to sign him last summer in an £18m deal.

Graham Potter was also appointed the Brighton & Hove Albion boss during the same summer.
Daniel James started his career at Manchester United well before it fizzled out towards the winter part of last season.
The Athletic claimed that Graham Potter and Brighton are plotting a loan move for the Red Devils winger.
The player has already lost his place in the starting XI at Manchester United and the arrival of another winger could push him further down the pecking order as far as the right wing position at Manchester United is concerned.
The Red Devils have been linked with wingers such as Jadon Sancho of Borussia Dortmund, Ismaila Sarr of Watford and many more.
Leeds United are also interested in signing James on loan.
Brighton considering Arsenal midfielder swoop
Brighton are reported to be considering Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles for a possible transfer in this summer transfer window.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles was a part of the manager Mikel Arteta team in the just-concluded season but was not a regular because of the options available in his position.
He is, therefore, reported to be considering a move away from the North London outfit to secure more playing time elsewhere, a development that has alerted the South Coast club and they are now considering his option.

Despite his claim to seek regular playing time, it is unclear if the Spanish manager will let go of the former England u-21 midfielder because he has been pencilled down as part of the club’s future.
Brighton have been showing great ambition in this summer transfer window and wants to get a share from the Gunners. They are already on the verge of signing Adam Lallana on a free transfer from current Premier League champions and also moving for Dutch defender Joel Veltman.
Despite not being a regular at the Emirates Stadium, it is believed that the Gunners will not let Ainsley Maitland-Niles leave the club for a cheap fee because of his prospect of succeeding in the game.

Jose Mourinho has employed the services of Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertoghen, Japheth Tanganga and Davidson Sanchez in the centre back positions. RB Leipzig star Dayot Upamecano has also been linked with the position at Spurs.
Just like Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal are also in the market for a centre back and they are also interested in the aforementioned Dayot Upamecano.
