North London giants Arsenal are into the fourth round of the Carabao Cup after they produced a five-star performance in their third round meeting with English Championship club Nottingham Forest.
Arsenal hosted the former European champions at home on Tuesday night.
The Gunners thrashed Nottingham Forest 5-0 to secure their place in the next round of the competition.
Arsenal manager Unai Emery made 11 changes to his starting lineup for the Nottingham Forest game from the team that came from behind twice to beat Aston Villa 3-2 at home in the Premier League at the weekend.
The changes had little effect on the Arsenal team as they strolled to victory.
The Gunners took a first half lead through Gabriel Martinelli off a cross from Calum Chambers.
Young Brazilian attacker Martinelli signed for Arsenal during the summer and the first half header against Nottingham Forest was his first goal for the club.
Defender Rob Holding scored the Gunners’ second goal at the start of the second half to mark his return to the team after nine months out with knee injury.
Hector Bellerin came on for Arsenal in the second half as he also made his return from a serious knee injury for the Gunners.
Bellerin marked his return for Arsenal with the assist for the third goal scored by Joe Willock.
Reiss Nelson added a fourth goal for Arsenal in what was his first goal for the senior team before the aforementioned Martinelli wrapped up the result for his new team.
