According to reports, one of the Premier League giants Manchester United failed to secure a deal for Bruno Fernandes, because the club’s reliable scouts are of the opinion that he takes too many risks while holding the ball.

The 24-year-old Sporting CP midfielder was linked to Old Trafford this summer, and for a brief while, reports also claimed Tottenham Hotspur joined them in the transfer race to sign the attacking midfielder.

Bruno Fernandes was linked to Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur after scoring 32 goals and 18 assists in 53 appearances for Sporting CB the same year.

Manchester United new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was interested in the 32-goal midfielder when Paul Pogba wanted a transfer to Real Madrid, but according to Daily Mail, the 46-year-old manager lose interest after the Red Devils scouts claimed that he loses possession too often.

Recall that Thewistle had claimed that Solskjaer has always been keen to sign young players that were reliable in ball possession – The signing of Harry Maguire had vindicated our claim.

However, Bruno Fernandes has continued to be in form for Sporting CP, where he has scored two goals with four assists in four appearances for his club.

With Manchester United midfielder injury prone and Solskjaer running out of quality options in the midfield, we predict that they will soon return to sign the attacking midfielder – in January transfer window.
