Belgium’s first-team coach, Roberto Martinez has revealed why Romelu Lukaku left Manchester United for Inter Milan.
Thewhistle had earlier reported that Romelu Lukaku joined former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte from Manchester United in the last period of the transfer market.
The former Everton striker joined Serie A inter Milan on a 5-year deal worth £73m as reported by goal.
Roberto Martinez has now voiced out that Romelu Lukaku left Manchester United because he was bored of the challenges at Old Trafford.
Speaking on why Romelu Lukaku left Old Trafford for Inter Milan, Roberto Martinez who was quoted by The Mirror said:
“Romelu needed a new challenge.
“Sometimes you get bored with a club.
“Working with Conte will please him and the project of Inter, who will chase the title, is interesting. I saw Lukaku laughs again and it made me happy.”
Romelu Lukaku has been performing well at Inter after scoring on his debut over Lecce at San Siro few days ago.
Romelu Lukaku is expected to be amongst the Martinez team that will feature for the 2020 qualifiers against Scotland and San Marino later next month.
