Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed the reason behind his decision to snub Arsenal for Manchester United in the early stages of his football career.
The 34-year-old talked about Arsenal in an exclusive interview with Portuguese media channel TV1.
According to him, he met with former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger before opting to sign for Manchester United.
Cristiano Ronaldo revealed that negotiations with Manchester United were initiated after the club friendly between his team Sporting Lisbon and the Red Devils in the summer of 2013.
Manchester United were keen to do a deal for him that summer and they finally got their man in a £12m deal.

Cristiano Ronaldo revealed that other clubs like Barcelona, Inter Milan and Real Madrid were also interested in signing him as a teenager shortly before his transfer to Manchester United.
He joined the Red Devils from Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2003 and the Portuguese international star went on to spend six successful years at the Theatre of Dreams.
Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United to join Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid in the summer of 2009 for a world-record fee of £80m.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner was at Real Madrid until last summer when he moved to Juventus.
