Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has revealed what he told former club teammate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer about winger Daniel James.

Solskjaer is the Manchester United manager at the moment having been appointed into the position at the end of last year.

The Norwegian tactician shared the Manchester United dressing room with Ryan Giggs for many years including the 1998/99 treble-winning season and he asked for his opinion with Daniel James whom he manages at international level.

Manchester United winger Daniel James is a Welsh international player who is familiar with Ryan Giggs, the Welsh national team manager.

When asked about Daniel James by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Ryan Giggs told Premier League productions that his response was that the young winger has plenty of potentials and a great character.

In the end, the recommendation from Ryan Giggs for Daniel James partly influenced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Manchester United to splash the cash on him.

Daniel James was their first signing of the summer ahead of other additions like Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire.

The 21-year-old was signed from English Championship side Swansea City for £15m rising to £18m.

Daniel James made his debut for Manchester United and also scored in the 4-0 win over Manchester United.
