New Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has praised the quality of midfielder Jorginho ahead of the Premier League clash with Leicester City.

Lampard and Chelsea host Leicester City at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening in what’s their second league game of the season.

In his pre-match press conference for the game, Frank Lampard pointed out the importance of Italian international Jorginho to the Chelsea squad.

It seems like Jorginho has turned the corner at Chelsea after the events of last season while Maurizio Sarri was the Blues boss.

The Italian international star was booed on several occasions by Chelsea fans who felt that the player was treated specially by the Maurizio Sarri regime at Chelsea.

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho was a £57m signing from Italian Serie A giants Napoli last season.

He joined the club due to the influence of the aforementioned Sarri.

Jorginho has started the season well for Chelsea under Frank Lampard who have not won his first two games in charge of the team.

Lampard and Chelsea began the season with a disappointing 4-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester United with goals from forwards Marcus Rashford (2), Anthony Martial and Daniel James who came on as a substitute.

Chelsea went on to lose the UEFA Super Cup to Liverpool on penalties in their second game of the season.
