Former Super Eagles skipper Joseph Yobo has reacted to Alex Iwobi’s move from Everton to fellow Premier League outfit Arsenal.
In an exclusive interview with popular media outlet Goal, Joseph Yobo expressed his delight at the transfer before adding that Everton are a quality team and that Alex Iwobi can realize his immense potentials at the club.
Joseph Yobo played for Merseyside giants Everton during his illustrious career as a footballer.
On the reason behind his decision to leave Arsenal for Everton, Yobo revealed that Alex Iwobi considered playing time before arriving at that conclusion.
His playing time would have been affected at Arsenal following the club-record arrival of Nicolas Pepe from French Ligue 1 club Lille.
The Gunners signed Pepe for £72m thus breaking their transfer record for the Ivorian international attacker.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the recipient of that record after his £56m transfer from former German Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund.
Nicolas Pepe made his Arsenal debut last weekend during the Premier League win over Newcastle United.
For Alex Iwobi, Everton agreed a £40m deal for him and the Nigerian international has signed a five-year contract until the end of the 2023/24 season.
He would make his debut for the Toffees during the home league meeting with Watford this weekend.
