Real Madrid forward Mariano has finally surrendered the number seven jersey to new signing Eden Hazard.
The Spanish giants confirmed that the jersey number for Eden Hazard on Friday afternoon.
The jersey number was previously won by club icons like Raul Gonzalez and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was the immediate past recipient before he left the club for Italian Serie A giants Juventus in a record deal worth at least £100m.
Mariano was given the jersey number for the last campaign shortly after Ronaldo’s exit was confirmed.

Eden Hazard is seen by a lot of Real Madrid fans as the direct replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo and they would be hoping the former Lille and Chelsea star emulate the achievements of the Portuguese international skipper in the famous jersey number.
Real Madrid spent a club-record fee of €100m on Eden Hazard who joined the Los Merengues from Premier League giants Chelsea this summer.
His Chelsea exit was almost inevitable as he had just one year left on his then contract at Stamford Bridge.
Eden Hazard’s final appearance in a Chelsea shirt was in the Europa League final.
He scored two goals for Chelsea as they thrashed Arsenal 4-1 to win the trophy.
