Former Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has been handed the number nine jersey at Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan.
The squad number confirmation happened earlier on Friday via the official Twitter handle of the Italians.
The number nine jersey was previously worn by ex-Inter Milan talisman Mauro Icardi who has fallen out with the club bosses at the San Siro.
Inter Milan legends like Hernan Crespo, Ronaldo and Samuel Eto’o had previously worn the jersey number.
Belgian international Lukaku would be hoping to emulate their various achievements at Inter Milan following his big-money transfer from Manchester United.
The 26-year-old spent two seasons at Manchester United before he decided to leave the Premier League for Italy.
Inter Milan agreed on an upfront fee of £64.7m for the Belgian international star in addition to £9.2m in add-ons.
The Nerazzurri made him their top transfer target at the start of the window and they were in negotiations with Manchester United for weeks before the two clubs agreed to a deal for Lukaku.
Romelu Lukaku scored 42 goals in all competitions during his time at Old Trafford having joined the Red Devils from fellow Premier League outfit Everton during the summer transfer window in 2017.
