North London club Tottenham Hotspur have put themselves into the frame of the major European sides interested in signing Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho.
According to UK Mirror, Spurs want to sign the Brazilian international on loan between now and when the transfer window ends on Thursday.
Arsenal have also been linked with a move for the former Liverpool player.
Spanish giants Barcelona are said to be demanding between €25m-€30m for a season-long loan deal.
Apart from the said loan fee for the 27-year-old, Tottenham Hotspur have to contend with his weekly wages.

Philippe Coutinho earns £200,000 on a weekly basis at Barcelona.
It remains to be seen whether Tottenham Hotspur or Arsenal will be able to afford his weekly wages.
Liverpool are his first option if the player wants to go back to the Premier League but his former club is not in the running to sign him.
Coutinho left Liverpool to sign for Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona at the start of last year in a deal said to be around £142m.
The Brazilian attacker left Liverpool in a controversial manner after he basically forced the transfer to the Nou Camp.
He has not been able to live up to his price tag at Barcelona.
