Chelsea legend Karen Carney has identified one player that could benefit a great deal from the new management of Frank Lampard.

Karen Carney talked about Chelsea on BBC Radio Five Live’s The Monday Night Club.

According to her, Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley can thrive under the new management of Frank Lampard.

Carney believes that former Chelsea midfielder Lampard can get the best out of Ross Barkley who was mainly used as a substitute during the managerial reign of Maurizio Sarri.

Since his transfer to Chelsea, Ross Barkley has scored six goals in 52 appearances for the west Londoners.

The England international signed for Chelsea at the start of last year.

He joined Chelsea from fellow Premier League outfit Everton in a deal reported to be around £15m.

Ross Barkley has won one FA Cup title and one Europa League title since moving to Chelsea during the 2018 winter transfer window.

The 25-year-old has been in very good form for Chelsea in preseason and he would hope to continue that form into the new season which starts in the next 72 hours.

Ross Barkley and Chelsea will start the new Premier League season at Manchester United on Sunday before they face Premier League rivals Liverpool in the UEFA Super Cup.
