Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has released a 21-man squad for the Community Shield clash with Liverpool billed for the Wembley Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City team are the defending champions ahead of the game with Liverpool.

Sergio Aguero scored both goals for Manchester City who beat Europa League champions Chelsea 2 – 0 to win last year’s edition of the Community Shield.

Argentina international Aguero has been included in the Manchester City squad after missing a big part of the preseason due to his involvement with his country at this year’s COPA America tournament in Brazil.

Sergio Aguero represented Argentina at the tournament as the two-time world champions finished in the third position as the wait for a major tournament goes on dating back to the 1993 edition of the COPA America.

Argentina have gone 26 years without a major trophy on the international stage.

Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus was also at the COPA America tournament and he has been included in the Manchester City clash with Liverpool.

He played a major role for hosts Brazil who won the tournament by beating Peru 3-1 in the final last month.

Top Bayern Munich target Leroy Sane is also part of that team named by Pep Guardiola.

Recent reports claimed that Sane will join Bayern in a deal worth €100m this summer.
