Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is adamant that their perfect preseason record counts for nothing when the season starts in the coming days.

The new Premier League season starts next week Friday with last season’s runners-up Liverpool hosting newly promoted Premier League outfit Norwich City at Anfield.

Manchester United wont start the new season till after two days when they will host top-four rivals Chelsea in a blockbuster game billed to take place at the Theatre of Dreams.

Solskjaer spoke about his team and preseason results during his latest press conference ahead of the International Champions Cup (ICC) clash with Italian Serie A giants AC Milan on Saturday.

According to him, preseason results don’t count for much before adding that serious business starts with the Chelsea game.

Solskjaer and his Manchester United players have been in superb form during preseason after winning five games on the bounce.

They are yet to drop any result during their preseason campaign this summer.

Manchester United have beaten the likes of Perth Glory FC of Australia, English Championship club Leeds United, Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan, Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur as well as Kristiansund FC of Norway.

The target for Manchester United ahead of the new season is to get back to the Champions League.
