Daniel Alves

Veteran Brazilian defender Daniel Alves has completed his move to Brazilian Serie A outfit Sao Paulo.

Daniel Alves was a free agent after leaving French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) at the end of his contract at the Parc des Princes.

His transfer to Sao Paulo was concluded on Thursday night.

Daniel Alves has signed a three-year contract at Sao Paulo until the end of the 2021/22 season.

The 36-year-old was linked with a free transfer move to Premier League giants Arsenal shortly after his PSG exit.

Daniel Alves makes a return to Brazil after he was offered a long-term three-year deal which was not given to him by all the European clubs interested in his services.

He returns to his native Brazil 17 years after leaving Bahia at the age of 19.

Daniel Alves joined Spanish La Liga club Sevilla from Bahia in 2002.

The Brazilian right-back spent six years at Sevilla where he won back-to-back European titles before leaving for fellow Spanish outfit Barcelona in 2008.

He moved to Italian champions Juventus in 2016 before joining French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG).

Daniel Alves spent two years at the Parc des Princes.

He won two successive league titles during his time with the French champions.
