South London giants Crystal Palace have reportedly made a bid for highly rated CSKA Moscow striker Fedor Chalov.
According to Sky Sports, Crystal Palace have made a £14m bid for Chalov as they try to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season scheduled to start next week Friday.
The new Premier League season kicks off at Anfield when Liverpool entertain Norwich City.
Russian international Fedor Chalov has previously been linked with a move to Arsenal but nothing came off those transfer rumours earlier in this window.
Instead, Arsenal have turned their focus on Nicolas Pepe who’s expected to complete a club-record transfer to the Emirates Stadium later this week.
Crystal Palace are almost certain to lose their most potent attacking threat in Wilfried Zaha this summer and the aforementioned Chalov could be his replacement at Selhurst Park.
Zaha was a long-term transfer target for Arsenal dating back to the start of this summer’s transfer window but the Gunners have moved on from him after negotiations with Crystal Palace stalled.
Arsenal had made an opening bid of £40m but Crystal Palace were adamant on their £80m valuation of the player.
Everton are also interested in the Ivorian international star.
