Premier League giants Manchester United are closing in on a move for one of the most sought-after midfielders in the Italian Serie A.

This is according to the publication from La Repubblica which revealed that Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is closing in on a move to Manchester United.

Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has been attracting the interest of a lot of European sides dating back to last summer.

He has been linked with a move to Manchester United for the better part of the last two years.

According to the aforementioned report, the Lazio midfielder is on the verge of joining Manchester United for £67m plus bonuses.

It was revealed that he will sign a five-year contract at Manchester United until the end of the 2023/24 season.

He could be a replacement for Paul Pogba if the Manchester United player leaves the club this summer amidst the interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The Los Merengues want to sign Pogba this summer but they have to sell some of their fringe players to raise funds for the French World Cup winner.

Paul Pogna has been vocal about his desire to seek a new challenge away from the Premier League outfit this summer.
