New Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte has provided an update on the pursuit of Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku during this summer.
While speaking ahead of the club friendly with Manchester United, reporters asked Conte about Lukaku.
According to him, Romelu Lukaku would be an important player for Inter Milan if the Nerazzurri can pull off a deal for him.
The Italian tactician went on to admit that it would be difficult for Inter Milan to sign the Belgian international.
Inter Milan have struggled to meet up with the financial demands required to sign Romelu Lukaku.
Manchester United are open to the idea of selling the player but they want to recoup the majority of the money spent on his transfer two years ago.
Lukaku joined Manchester United from fellow Premier League side Everton in the summer of 2017 after the two clubs agreed on a £75m deal for the former Everton, Stoke City and Chelsea striker.
He has scored 42 goals in two seasons at Manchester United including 15 goals from the last campaign.
Antonio Conte became the Inter Milan manager last month and his major request this summer is the signing of Romelu Lukaku ahead of the new season billed for next month.
