French Ligue 1 club Bordeaux are reportedly interested in a move for Arsenal midfielder Mohamed ElNeny this summer.

The interest of the former French champions was confirmed by The Times though the player might need to take a pay cut to end his Arsenal nightmare.

Mohamed ElNeny has not been able to nail down a starting spot in the Arsenal XI since his move from Switzerland.

Arsenal signed the Egyptian international from Swiss top flight side FC Basel in January 2016.

The Gunners paid £7m to secure his signing from FC Basel and he’s on weekly wages of £55,000.

The 26-year-old will have to take a financial hit personally to secure a move to Bordeaux.

The fallen French giants might also struggle to meet the £7m demand from Arsenal for any deal to happen.

Arsenal want to recoup the money spent on his transfer three years ago.

Mohamed ElNeny was recently with the Egyptian squad at the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament on home soil.

ElNeny and Egypt suffered a shock exit at the weekend after they were beaten 1-0 by South Africa in their last 16 clash.

The reward for South Africa is a quarterfinal clash with old foes Nigeria for the right to qualify for the last four of the tournament.
