Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny has refused to embark on the club’s preseason tour of US.
The North London club confirmed the new development via an official statement released on Thursday morning.
Laurent Koscielny has one year left on his current deal with the Gunners but the player wants the club to release him from the said contract.
The 33-year-old has three offers from French clubs according to GFFN and the player has been telling the club to release him for several weeks.
Laurent Koscielny trained with Arsenal this morning but refused to embark on the preseason tour of the United States.
The ex-French international star is almost certain to lose his status as the Arsenal captain.
For now, Arsenal have opened disciplinary proceedings against him.
Laurent Koscielny has been at Arsenal since he joined the Gunners from French club Lorient.
He has made 285 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions.
The Frenchman is the longest serving player in the Arsenal first team following the exit of Aaron Ramsey this summer.
Welsh international star Ramsey has signed for Italian champions Juventus on a free transfer.
Koscielny returned from a serious Achilles injury in November and he was a key player for the Gunners for the remainder of the season.
