Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans has completed his move to the King Power Stadium following his successful loan spell at the club during the second half of last season.

The 22-year-old had earlier joined Leicester City on loan from French Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco in January and he went on to spend the next six months at the club until this summer.

His permanent move to Leicester City was confirmed by the former Premier League champions on Monday.

Leicester City paid £40m to secure his transfer from AS Monaco.

According to Sky Sports, Youri Tielemans initially wanted a move to Manchester United but he had to settle for the Leicester City transfer since the move to Old Trafford was not forthcoming.

The player fastracked a permanent Leicester City move to enable him to join the Foxes for preseason.

His agent had earlier asked for his client to wait for the outcome of the Pogba saga at Manchester United.

Youri Tielemans was previously linked with the Red Devils as a direct replacement for Paul Pogba who wants to leave the club this summer.

The French World Cup winner has talked about his desire to leave the club for a new challenge after three years in his second spell at Manchester United.
