Former Crystal Palace and Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has revealed the reason behind the struggles Wilfried Zaha had as a Manchester United player.

In an interview on TalkSport, Ian Holloway revealed that Zaha would have been a hit at Manchester United if he played under legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

According to him, the Manchester United legend would have brought the best out of him.

Wilfried Zaha signed for Manchester United in a £15m deal from Crystal Palace in January 2013 before he returned to Selhurst Park for the remainder of the season while the aforementioned Holloway was in charge.

The 26-year-old went on to make just four first team appearances at Manchester United under David Moyes who had replaced Sir Alex Ferguson in the summer of 2013.

Sir Alex Ferguson had retired in that summer after leading the Red Devils to 11 Premier League titles and two Champions League titles.

After an unsuccessful stint at Manchester United, Zaha returned to Crystal Palace permanently for just £6m in 2015.

He has been a key player for Crystal palace since his transfer.
