North London giants Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in pole position to sign Real Betis midfielder Giovanni Lo Celso ahead of other interested clubs like Manchester United and Real Madrid.

According to the Football Insider, Spurs want to add the Argentine international star to the signing of midfielder Tangy Ndombele.

It was revealed that Spurs want to make the 23-year-old their third signing of this summer.

Spurs had earlier announced the signing of Jack Clarke from Leeds United as their first signing though the young midfielder would spend the next season on loan at the English Championship club.

Tottenham Hotspur made their second signing of the summer with Tanguy Ndombele who joined the Champions League finalists for a record bid of around €65m.

The North Londoners could break their record after the aforementioned report stated that Spurs are ready to offer a club-record £60m transfer fee.

It was also revealed that Spurs want to offer the player £150,000 on a weekly basis.

Giovanni Lo Celso has a release clause of £88m (€100m) in his release clause at Real Betis.

Manchester United have been linked with a move for Lo Celso in this transfer window as they search for a possible replacement for Ander Herrera who has signed for French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) on a free transfer.
