Paul Pogba

Former Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona have reportedly offered a swap deal for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba in their bid to sign him this summer.

According to the publication from the stables of Manchester Evening News (MEN), Real Madrid have offered €75m in addition to either Isco or Gareth Bale for Pogba.

It remains to be seen whether Manchester United will sanction a move for Paul Pogba with the offer from Real Madrid.

Manchester United have previously been linked with the aforementioned duo of Isco and Gareth Bale.

Welsh international Bale has been a long-term transfer target for Manchester United dating back to 2013 shortly before he moved to Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur for a then world-record transfer fee of £85.3m.

Manchester United midfielder Pogba broke that transfer record in 2016 following his £89m move back to the club from Italian champions Juventus.

Pogba has not fully lived up to his price tag in his second spell at Manchester United though it must be pointed out that his move to Manchester United has not been a total failure.

The 26-year-old scored 16 goals in all competitions for Manchester United

EPL: Arsenal to meet £70m target tomorrow

Adama Traore

North London outfit Arsenal will be meeting their long term target Adama Traore but not on the discussion table as usual. They will be meeting on the pitch when the Gunners file out against his Wolverhampton Wanders side in the English Premier League match on Saturday, July 4, 2020.

The Gunners will only hope to see a massive win to stand the chance of playing in the Europa League next season but more to it is that they will be served the opportunity to access their target, in what will look like a trial for the player.

Daily Mirror had reported that the Gunners were keen on the winger in April but a bid has not been tabled for the player. The winger already has a price tag of £70 million for any suitor.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed the threat the player will pose to his team, stressing that he has got incredible potential especially when he gets the ball on time which makes stopping him difficult.

In case the Gunners become convince about Traore’s quality, the challenge in securing his signature will be his price tag because the Gunners will not be able to meet with such a demand unless a negotiation is done.

However, Arsenal still have Nicolas Pepe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Alexandre Lacazette to boast of in their attack which makes Traore an option and not a necessity.

EPL: Klopp reveals three things that must happen after City defeat

Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool are English Premier League current champions and nothing at the moment can change it, not even the 4-0 defeat they suffered against Man City on Thursday night at Etihad.

No thanks to the brace by Kevin De Bruyne and gaols by Phil Foden and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain that caused heavy pain on the Reds team.

It was obvious that Liverpool were disappointed in the defeat and manager Jurgen Klopp could not hide his feelings when he said the result wasn’t expected. However, he noted that certain things will now happen after the defeat, stressing that his team will surely see to that.

Firstly, he stated that results are important and his side will see that they win their remaining six games to the end of the season. According to him, the remaining games are the reason why his team has been training hard despite winning the title.

Secondly, there is a bid to beat the 100 record points already set by Man City in previous seasons to be able to gain more pride but Jurgen Klopp stressed that they will not be forcing that to happen. Liverpool now have 86 points which means they can still earn 100 points before the end of the season.

Lastly, Klopp seems to be planning some form of revenge when he said “we will see next season”, meaning he is already looking forward to another meeting between the two clubs.

EPL: Man United’s fate decided

Man United’s fate in the English Premier League has been decided by Harry Redknapp but it is left to the Red Devils to accept or not and largely dependent on their performance on the pitch.

The Red Devils enjoyed a 3-0 win in their last game, making it 15 games unbeaten across all competitions.

According to Harry Redknapp, the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer team can still finish third this season ahead of Chelsea and Leicester City, going by their recent form.

United are now 5th in the EPL table with 52 points after 32 games making them two points behind Chelsea.

Harry Redknapp noted while speaking on MUTV that Leicester City have started struggling and same applies to Chelsea while United are in fine form, looking stronger by each game.

Man United signing Bruno Fernandes has been praised for helping to improve the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer team by stabilizing the midfield and connecting well with players like Paul Pogba.

Should Man United continue in their fine form with the six games left, Harry Redknapp’s prediction will just be on point.

Since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over at the Old Tradford, he has been making efforts to prove a point with a title win but that is yet to happen, a qualification to the Champions League will be helpful to him.

Arsenal make final decision on Thomas Partey

Thomas Partey

Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey has been mostly mentioned in Arsenal’s transfer rumours ahead of the summer window with suggestions that he is highly needed.

It is also claimed that the Ghanian player is keen to part ways with the La Liga outfit, favouring a move to the English Premier League with Arsenal as his preferred destination.

Arsenal have got Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torriera but none of them have been able to keep the defence secured as needed and Partey has already proven that he can handle the job for Mikel Arteta.

However, the Gunners seems not interested in dragging a possible deal for the player and have decided to enter negotiation for a fee.

A £45million price tag has been slammed as his release clause which the Gunners might not be able to pay, especially after announcing a £27.1 million loss last year.

With the North London outfit now ready to step up their chase of the star player, there is a need to open negotiations with Atletico Madrid to have the fee reduced.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will seek to focus on their bid to secure a spot for Europa League qualification if they cannot make the Champions League and that will require concentration and hard work.

Angry Arsenal recruit, Saliba could return to France

William Saliba

From every indication, Arsenal’s new recruit William Saliba would be returning to France to play in the French Cup Final with Saint Etienne against Paris Saint Germain.

The Gunners snapped up the player in a £27 million deal last year and allowed him to stay back on a loan deal which expired on June 30.

As a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, the French league was not concluded but the French Cup final has now been scheduled for July 24.

The French club have approached Arsenal for the player to return for the final game and it was initially agreed but conditions for William Saliba to return were not reached between both clubs, causing fracas.

The latest report now claims that William Saliba is really upset with the decision by Arsenal to turn him down and has already approached the club’s managing director Vinai Venkatesham, a development that could force a rethink and a new negotiation.

Should everything go fine, Willaim Saliba could still return to France for the final game before starting his Arsenal career ahead of the coming season.

The North London are very keen on the welfare of the defender, knowing his injury records and they are keen on ensuring he gets fit to start the season with the team.

Man City in line to sign Chelsea reject

Nathan Ake

North London outfit Chelsea were unable to find a place for young defender Nathan Ake, hence had him sold to Bournemouth after a loan spell.

The rejected player seems to have become a demand for Man City as they are reported to be interested in landing him with talks already opened.

Since the exit of Vincent Kompany, Man City have not been finding it good with their defensive department and will be seeking for all options available to be able to compete and bounce back after losing the EPL title to Liverpool.

Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones have not been giving their best while an option of David Alaba from Bayern Munch is being threatened by his high age demand. The same applies to Napoli’s Kalidou Kalibaly whose transfer fee is also high.

Nathan Ake might be the best option for Man City with manager Pep Guardiola hoping to work with him, having watched him play.

Chelsea have got a buy-back clause on Nathan Ake but that may not be a threat to Man City who are desperate at the moment for a defender.

Nathan Ake could cost £40 million but Man City are positive that Bournemouth will be forced to beat it down if the player desires a move.

Barcelona star to snub Arsenal for Man United

Antoine Griezmann

There are indications that English Premier League outfit Arsenal will miss out on their target and Barcelona striker Antoine Griezmann after reports claim he prefers a move to Man United.

The Gunners had indicated an interest in the France international and are ready to use a swap deal with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to tempt Barcelona who are also reportedly seeking the signature of the Gabon international.

While Arsenal are yet to tie down Aubameyang with a new deal, Barcelona are reported to be interested in his signature as they have not gotten the best from Antoine Griezmann since he joined Nou Camp from Atletico Madrid.

The latest report now claims that the France international was involved in a dressing room row and has fallen out of favour with the Catalan boss. It is claimed that the Premier League is his preferred destination and he favours a move to Man United.

According to the reports on The Express, the Griezmann family is unhappy with the situation of the former Atletico Madrid striker in Barcelona and are in full support of a move away from the club.

This, therefore, means that Arsenal’s chance of landing the star striker is now dim because of the uncertainty of his future at Barcelona.
