Italian Serie A giants Napoli have completed the signing of Kostas Manolas from fellow Italian Serie A club AS Roma.

Greek international centre back Manolas has moved to Napoli in a deal reported to be around €36m including €2m sign-on fee for him.

The 27-year-old has signed a four-year deal with Napoli who have moved to replace Raul Albiol with the former AEK Athens and Olympiacos defender.

He will earn €2.1m per annum during his stay with Napoli.

The Italian Serie A club needed a replacement for Spanish international Raul Albiol after he moved to La Liga club Villarreal in a €4m deal.

Kostas Manolas spent five years in the Italian capital on the back of his move from Greek Super League giants Olympiacos in 2014.

He was strongly linked with a move to North London giants Arsenal before signing for Olympiacos and the Greek player has been a long-term transfer target for the Gunners since then.

Manolas was also linked with Manchester United who want to sign a new centre back this summer.

During his stay at Roma, Kostas Manolas didn’t win any trophy at the club though he was instrumental to the Italian giants’ run to the Champions League semifinals during the 2017/18 season before they were eliminated by Liverpool.
