His free transfer signing was confirmed by the official Twitter handle of Inter Milan on Monday morning.

Man Utd Target Godin has left Atletico Madrid officially after the expiration of his contract with the Spanish La Liga giants on the 30th of June.

The 33-year-old defender attained legendary status at Atletico Madrid during his nine-year stay at the club following his move from fellow Spanish La Liga outfit Villarreal in 2010.

Diego Godin was a key player for Atletico Madrid during his time in the Spanish capital.

He became the club captain last summer following the exit of previous recipient Gabi.

Diego Godin was part of the Atletico Madrid side that won the 2013/14 Spanish La Liga title.

During his time, Atletico Madrid reached the Champions League final on two occasions.

The Rojiblancos lost both finals to city rivals Real Madrid.

Atletico Madrid were beaten 4-1 by Real Madrid at the end of extra time during the 2014 Champions League final before losing on penalties to the same opponents two years later after both sides had played 1-1 at the end of extra time.
