Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour gave his verdict on transfer rumours linking Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with a move to Premier League rivals Manchester United.

The Arsenal Legend addressed those rumours in a chat with TalkSport.

According to him, it would be madness for Arsenal to sanction the sale of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Manchester United.

He also added that the Gabonese international player is a proven goalscorer and that his kind is rare to find in today’s market.

The ex-Arsenal player also said that it would be surprising to see the Gunners disband the attacking prowess of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette by selling one of the two strikers.

Ray Parlour was a member of the Arsenal squad that went through the 2003/04 Premier League season without a single defeat.

Parlour and Arsenal sealed a third Premier League title for the Gunners during that season.

Recent reports had claimed that Arsenal want to sanction the sale of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Manchester United and in turn, use the funds raised to sign Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the topscorer for Arsenal during the just concluded season after he scored 31 goals in all competitions including 22 league goals.
