French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) have reportedly backed out of a deal to sign highly rated Ajax Amsterdam skipper Matthijs De Ligt this summer.
PSG were one of the favourites to sign the young Dutch international centre back.
The new status of PSG in the race to sign Liverpool target De Ligt was revealed by the publication from SoccerLink.
It was revealed that club officials made the decision after it was evident that the player is not ready to fight for the football project at PSG.

The French champions might have learnt their lessons from the Neymar saga after the Brazilian international expressed his desire to leave the club two years after joining from Spanish champions Barcelona.
Matthijs De Ligt has been one of the most sought-after players in the transfer window this summer with several clubs on his trail.
Apart from PSG and reigning European champions Liverpool, Dutchman De Ligt has also been linked with Premier League giants Manchester United and Italian Serie A champions Juventus.
Italian giants Juventus are believed to have won the race to sign the 19-year-old centre back who recently led Ajax Amsterdam to two major trophies in the top flight of Dutch football as well as the Champions League semifinals.
