Champions League finalists Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly agreed on a deal to sign highly rated Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele this summer.

According to Sky Sports, Spurs have reached a £65m agreement for the midfielder including add-ons.

The transfer will make him the club-record signing for North London club Tottenham Hotspur and it would also make it the first signing for the Premier League outfit after a period of 18 months.

Spurs have not signed anyone for the first team since they secured the transfer of Brazilian attacker Lucas Moura during the winter transfer window in January 2018.

Lucas Moura signed for Spurs from French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG).

Tanguy Ndombele was linked with several clubs on the European football scene but it seems like Spurs will be his new destination.

The Frenchman was touted as a possible transfer addition for clubs like Manchester United, Juventus, Paris Saint Germain (PSG), Manchester City and Champions League holders Liverpool.

Ndombele came into European prominence after he impressed against Premier League champions Manchester City in the Champions League.

The midfielder was phenomenal over the two legs against the Citizens.

The Lyon star drew the praise of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola after his impressive display against his team.
