Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has been backed as the new Blues boss by former Manchester City teammate Vincent Kompany.
The former Manchester City skipper spoke about Frank Lampard during his unveiling as the player/manager at Belgian top flight side Anderlecht.
Vincent Kompany left Manchester City at the end of the just concluded Premier League season to take up his new role.
He left the Premier League champions at the end of his contract with the club he captained for many years.
On Frank Lampard, Vincent Kompany said that the Derby County manager is the right fit for the Chelsea job.

Vincent Kompany and Frank Lampard played together at the Etihad Stadium for one season (2014/15 season).
He backed him to be an instant success as the new Chelsea manager.
Chelsea legend Lampard is closing in on a dream return to Stamford Bridge in a managerial capacity.
Earlier on Tuesday, English Championship club Derby County gave Chelsea the permission to with their former player over the vacant managerial role at the club and as a replacement for Maurizio Sarri who has gone to Juventus.
Chelsea are now expected to make him their new manager officially later this week in addition to the payment of £4m in compensation to Derby County.
