Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is set to stay at the club beyond this summer after impressing club manager Jurgen Klopp and the Reds backroom staff.
This is according to the publication from the stables of trusted English news outlet The Times which claimed that Klopp has been impressed with the conduct of the Belgian international shot stopper during the just concluded campaign.
Klopp was left impressed with the way Simon Mignolet has reacted to being the second choice goalkeeper at Liverpool in the wake of the world-record arrival of Alisson Becker last summer.
Liverpool spent £67m on Alisson Becker who joined the Reds from fellow Champions League campaigners AS Roma at the start of the 2018/19 season.
His transfer broke the record for the most expensive goalkeeper in the history of world football.
The record would then last for some few days after Chelsea activated the £71m release clause in the Athletic Bilbao contract of Kepa Arrizabalaga to seal his signing from the Basque club.
Brazilian international Alisson Becker was in very good form for Liverpool who ended the season with the Champions League title via a 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur.
Simon Mignolet was restricted to just two appearances in all competitions last season as a result of the form of Alisson Becker.
