Premier League giants Manchester United have sensationally rejected an offer to swap Paris Saint Germain (PSG) attacker Neymar for star player Paul Pogba according to the Independent.

It was revealed that PSG offered Manchester United the chance to sign long-term Chelsea target Neymar this summer only for the Red Devils to turn down a deal for the Brazilian international.

Paul Pogba has talked about his desire to leave Manchester United this summer with Spanish giants Real Madrid keen to snap him up from the Red Devils.

For Neymar, the Brazilian player is ready to quit PSG this summer for a return to Spain with former club Barcelona, though the French champions have always maintained that the 27-year-old is still a player on their payroll and that he’s not for sale.

The aforementioned publication from the Independent revealed that his salary was mainly behind the decision taken by Manchester United to turn down the opportunity of a swap deal with PSG.

Neymar is said to be on weekly wages of almost half a million euros.

He was a previous transfer target for Europa League holders Chelsea shortly before his move from Brazilian Serie A club Santos to Spanish champions Barcelona in 2013.

He spent four years at Barcelona before a €220m move to PSG in 2017.
