Spanish giants Real Madrid are reluctant to let playmaker James Rodriguez leave the club on loan this summer.

This is according to the report from Goal which revealed that the Spaniards are only interested in a permanent deal for the Colombian international player amidst the strong interest from Napoli.

The Italian Serie A giants want to sign the former AS Monaco and FC Porto player on loan for the new season with the option to sign him permanently.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has already confirmed their interest as he said that the potential James Rodriguez transfer was demanded by club manager Carlo Ancelotti who worked with James Rodriguez while they were at Real Madrid.

James Rodriguez played for one season under Carlo Ancelotti during the 2015/16 before the Italian tactician was sacked by Real Madrid.

James Rodriguez spent the last two seasons with German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich who didn’t take up the option to sign him for £37m as stipulated in the loan contract that took him from Spain to Germany in the summer of 2017.

James Rodriguez has been linked with a lot of the major Premier League sides like Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Old Trafford outfit Manchester United who are crying out for a quality player like the Colombian international star.
