Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid have set a €350m release clause in the contract of Benfica attacker Joao Felix whom they are close to signing according to the media reports coming out of the Spanish media.
Joao Felix is expected to join Spanish La Liga club Atletico Madrid in the coming days after the Rojiblancos agreed to meet the €120m (£105m) release clause in his contract with Portuguese champions Benfica.
According to the specific report from trusted Spanish newspaper AS, Atletico Madrid will insert a release clause of €350m in his contract when Joao puts pen to paper to become an Atletico Madrid player.
Joao Felix has been attracting the interest of the best of the best clubs in European football but it seems like Atletico Madrid have won the race to sign him.
Apart from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, Portuguese international Joao Felix has also been linked with clubs like Spanish champions Barcelona, Premier League champions Manchester City, Manchester United and six-time European champions Liverpool.
Joao Felix enjoyed a breakthrough season for Benfica last season as he helped the former European champions reclaim the Portuguese Super League title from FC Porto.
He scored 15 goals in 26 league appearances for Benfica.
