English Premier League outfit Liverpool are reported to be close to securing a deal for Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon star Bruno Fernandes with claims that they have already had a bid submitted.

Bruno Fernandes has been on the radar of a number of teams with Man United and Tottenham also keen but the Reds team are poised to snap him up and have submitted a bid of £40 million for the goal-scoring midfielder, according to a Correio de Manha report.

It is now unsure if Sporting Lisbon will accept the sum of £40 million after reports have claimed that they insist on a £60 million to land the Portuguese international.

While an official reply to the bid is being awaited, it is expected that manager Jurgen Klopp will make another move for the star player by improving their offer so that they can land him ahead of other suitors.

So far, Liverpool is the most attractive side among the teams being linked with to the Sporting Lisbon man because of their status as the Champions League defending champions and their success in the last two years.

Meanwhile, manager Jurgen Klopp does not want big money signings as he would only seek to keep his team together.
