Premier League giants Manchester United will reportedly miss out on Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann this summer.
This is according to the publication from the Daily Mirror which claimed that Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona will complete a deal worth £150m for French World Cup winner Griezmann.
The said fee includes the transfer fee and his wages.
It was also revealed that Barcelona skipper and talisman Lionel Messi personally put a call through to Antoine Griezmann to talk to him about moving to the Nou Camp.
Three-time European champions Manchester United and French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) have also tried to sign Antoine Griezmann this summer but the two clubs will miss out on his signing to Barcelona.
Atletico Madrid star Griezmann came close to joining Barcelona last summer but he decided to stay with the Rojiblancos and also sign a new contract.
The Frenchman could have left Atletico Madrid for Barcelona shortly after he played a big role for France in their World Cup winning feat in Russia last summer.
French national team star Griezmann will finally get his wish to sign for Barcelona one year later thanks partly to the intervention of Lionel Messi as mentioned above.

La Liga: Real Madrid Maintain Lead In Madrid Derby Clash
Real Madrid are still the team to beat in the Spanish La Liga after the immediate past European champions maintained their position at the top of the table despite the draw recorded in their Madrid Derby clash with Atletico Madrid.
The Madrid Derby clash ended in a goalless draw.
Hosts Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid shared the points as the defense of both teams was in top form especially the goalkeepers.
Real Madrid shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois and his Atletico Madrid counterpart Jan Oblak contributed to the result a great deal especially the latter who had to make several saves to ensure that his goal was not breached.
The result ended the two-game winning run for Real Madrid though their unbeaten run is still intact.
They are the only team yet to suffer defeat in the top flight of Spanish football.
Some weeks ago, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane was under serious pressure but it seems to have eased off a bit on the back of seven points in the last three games.
Zidane came under pressure after his Real Madrid team suffered a thrashing at the hands of French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) in their Champions League opener this season.
Real Madrid were on the end of a 3-0 defeat at the home of PSG earlier this month.

On Hazard, Zidane challenged the Belgian international to show his quality during the game.
He wants Eden Hazard to step up for the Madrid Derby clash.
Eden Hazard has not had the best of starts to his Real Madrid career and that’s largely due to injury.
He sustained an injury during preseason and that led to him missing the start of the new Spanish La Liga season.
Hazard returned from injury for the home game against Levante which ended in a 3-2 win for Real Madrid.
He also played in the 1-0 win at the home of Sevilla.
Eden Hazard has made three appearances for Real Madrid including the Champions League opener against French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG).
He became a Real Madrid player in the summer after the club paid a club-record fee to sign him.
